Simplicity Select
One of our most Northern Rhone styled wines in many years. Once again blending is the key to success: the Estrella River clone from our 2006 planting combined with clone 877 from one of our newer plantings shows that this property has magic in the soils. We think we nailed this one! Not a fruit bomb, this wine tastes like Hermitage on a ripe year. Violets, plums and meat combine with black pepper for a rich fulfilling experience. 288 cases produced. 92 points Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Melodi
Ruby-red. Urgent aromas of crushed red and black berries, and black pepper. Supersweet but not cooked; thick and spicy. Impressively long and ripe on the back end, but retains good freshness. The best Kobayashi vintage to date, and approachable already. 150 cases produced. 89 points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Blossom
7% Viogier. Light to medium in volume and decently focused on green apple fruit with a touch of apple blossom prettiness also evident in its aromas, this wine is nicely rounded in texture and has an inviting level of straightforward fruit in its moderately rich flavor and mid-length aftertaste. Its price is also inviting. 600 cases produced. 98 points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
